About LIP Skateboards

Brief story about how I came up with the LIP skateboards.

During 2022 summer I decide to embark on this crazy journey and create a skateboard brand.

When brainstorming in search for a name, the only condition I had was that it needed to be related to family.

My family has been always there for me, especially my wife, always making sure that I do what I love no matter what: ride my skateboard!

All of a sudden it hit me. The name was already there. For many years (well… 6 years tops as Pedro is 6 now). I’ve been writing on my grip tape IPL in every new rider. IPL stands for Ines (wife) Pedro (son) Luisa (daughter).

But my in-law mentioned: “That’s a great name but is also stands for Lisbon’s Prisional Institute” Lol!

Yeah, sounded weird.

So, adding a flavor of skateboarding to the name- Lip Slide (a trick that I love) - LIP skateboards was born.
